Between Frejus and Draguignan, among vineyards and forests, the village of Le Muy, where you can actually smell the Provence. Especially on market days (Sunday and Thursday morning) when its central square is covered with colorful stalls of fruit and vegetables or seafood.
Fréjus boasts a unique past as this city on the coast of the Var was already a port in Roman times. Frejus has conserved a rich and varied heritage that displays Roman remains, mansions of the 17th and 18th centuries as well as villas built in the 19th century when the French Riviera started its development.
A Famous resort on the Var coast, Saint Raphael has five marinas. Needless to say that this is one of the top destinations for water sports, especially as this beautiful seaside resort has 42km of sandy beaches interspersed with coves and cliffs.
A small traditional port famous for its painters and its international jet-set, Saint-Tropez is the world's most famous and certainly the most prestigious fishing village. Beside Saint-Tropez, other cities in the Gulf like Ramatuelle, Port-Grimaud or Cogolin are home to sandy beaches and winding cobbled streets in exceptional settings at the foot of the Maures Mountains.
Clinging to the side of a hill, the charming town of Ramatuelle shelters behind its ramparts old buildings covered with pink tiles. Its hilltop location offers a sumptuous panorama of the bay of Pampelonne, its fine sandy beach and its wild coves where it is pleasant to come and isolate yourself. Ramatuelle has a vibrant cultural life with jazz and theatre festivals.
The village of "L'Ayguade" is 800m far from the campsite, you will find a market every Wednesday morning with local products, possibility to go walking or by bicycle by the cycle track.
You will also find a bakery, a pharmacy, a post office, restaurants, a supermarket and a tobacco / press.
5 miles long, the beach from L’Almanarre borders the salt lakes connecting the mainland with the tip of Giens. Its white sand and shallow waters are a good place to swim, especially for children. And when the wind rises from the west, windsurfers and kite surfers come here to indulge in their favorite sport.
The beaches of Martigues offer all kinds of water activities: Stand-up Paddle, flyboard, fishing, surfing, sailing, canoeing, towed buoy, jet-ski, scuba diving, pedal boat, windsurfing or rental of nautical equipment throughout the year.
From June to August, Snorkeling with surface guided tours by a guide employed at the Côte Bleue Marine Park from Martigues and Carry-le-Rouet also offers summer water activities in the periods from June to September: Rental single or two-seater kayak, giant paddle rental, towed buoy tower, wakeboard or jet-ski.
Martigues is located 10 km from the Tikayan Félix de la Bastide campsite. The village of Martigues is an essential place to visit during your stay at the campsite. Take advantage of your vacation to relax on Ferrières beach, facing the Etang de Berre. Discover the coves of the Côte Bleue during a boat trip along the Venice of Provence. We also recommend hiking on the Côte Bleue trail. You can also visit Fort de Bouc accessible by sea. You can also go to the Sainte Croix chapel and admire the view over the Côte Bleue to the Couronne lighthouse.
Spread over 18 hectares, Borély Park is the most frequented green space site in Marseille. It houses an 18th century bastide, enhanced by a "French" garden and a 19th century landscaped park. Its paths are very popular with joggers and walkers who enjoy strolling between the rose garden beds or discovering rare species in the botanical garden. The body of water, its jetty, its refreshment bar and its restaurant complete the many attractions of the site. Borély is also a paradise for children with two playgrounds and many spaces.
Nestled in a bay and surrounded by the glowing rocks of the Esterel mountains between Cap Dramont and La Baumette, Agay is a popular venue for sailing enthusiasts who appreciate its small harbor. Its sandy beaches are popular. No doubt you will be seduced by this pretty bay like the well known great authors as Albert Cohen who created his Belle du Seigneur and St Exupéry who says "Agay is a paradise where even the dust is fragrant."
This nature base named after Francois Leotard is situated in the district of Port Fréjus and covers a vast natural area by the sea. The area covers 135 hectares of which 85 hectares are classed and protected offering a delight for nature and outdoor lovers. The remaining 50 hectares are dedicated to sport activities including a long beach of 1500 meters with a beach volleyball court, a bowling alley and a roller skate and skateboard park, etc.
This Frejus district has a long history. The Romans stayed here more than 2000 years ago. At the foot of the Maures massif, this popular seaside resort boasts a charming setting bathed in the scents of pine trees and mimosa. Its coastline is dotted with coves that are home to beautiful golden beaches.
World famous for its film festival, which every spring attracts famous film stars from all over the world on the shores of the French Riviera, Cannes is a popular resort since the 19th century. As a reminder of that time, several large hotels on the Croisette display their architectural styles from the late 19th and early 20th century such as the Martinez with its Art Deco style. Cannes is also the port of departure to visit the islands of Lérins, just offshore and well worth a visit.

Facing the Croisette in the Bay of Cannes, the Lerins Islands, consisting of Sainte Marguerite and Saint Honorat offer an exotic visit, just a short distance from the French Riviera coast. The island of Sainte Marguerite, where the Iron Mask was locked up is composed of a wooded area of 152 ha scattered with remains of the different civilizations that have succeeded while the island of St. Honorat is owned by the Cistercian monks who cultivate their own wine. The golden islands or islands of Hyères are 3 islands located off the tip of the peninsula of Giens: Porquerolles, Port-Cros and the Levant. Porquerolles is the most visited and tourist, you will access by boat from the Fondue Tower. On site you will find many restaurants, ice cream parlors and shops. Discover the island by bike (rental possible on site), swim in the crystal clear waters of the famous silver beach or visit the lighthouse Porquerolles, the mill of happiness or Fort St. Agathe. Port-Cros is the wildest, classified National Park since 1963 is a paradise for hiking and diving. You will join it from the port of Hyères in about three quarters of an hour.
The Faron cable car is unique in the south of France. It allows Toulon and many tourists to access the foot of the mountain at the summit at about 584 meters altitude: Mount Faron. With an exceptional view over the harbor of Toulon, you can discover a memorial dedicated to the landing of Provence and the events of the summer of 1944, a zoo called the Fauverie du Faron and various hiking trails and two restaurants including a panoramic.

It is appreciable to stroll in its alleys in order to discover its plots and its typical fountains of a small Provencal village but also to admire the panoramic view from the Notre-Dame de Beauvoir chapel which overlooks the village or more simply the waterfall from the bridge located in the center of the village. The presence of trails starting from the village also allows you to discover it from different angles (Claux trail, Tréguier botanical trail, Roman road, etc.) To complete your visit, you can visit the earthenware museum which traces the production of ceramics through the ages.

Covering an area of 800 km², the Valensole plateau is located at an altitude of 500 meters not far from the Gorges du Verdon. Kingdom of the famous Provençal perfume plant, this territory, covered with fields of lavender and wheat, is also dotted with charming localities, such as St Martin de Brômes, Riez or even Esparron. Lovers of the typical landscapes of Provence will not fail to cross the Valensole plateau at the end of spring, when the lavender, then in bloom, lights up a beautiful blue. The Salins d'Hyères are divided in two: the old saline and saline Pesquiers which form the center of the double tombolo of the peninsula of Giens. These two wetlands list more than 200 species of birds. The nature area organizes guided tours animated by the Bird Protection League all year round, a visit based at the same time on the discovery of the fauna and the flora but also on the sensitization to the environment. A free visit is also possible on a part of the site with a route to be done on foot or by bike. This track called "Levée de Saint Nico-las" is designed for the discovery of fauna and flora.
The peninsula of Giens is bordered on both sides by long sandy beaches: on one side the family beaches of the Capte, the Shepherd and the Badine, with shallow water, all more char-mantes some that others, from the wildest to the most equipped, a wide choice is offered to you. Several shipping companies and taxi boats undertake regular connections with the islands from La Tour Fondue in Giens or the port of Hyères. Porquerolles The island of Porquerolles is the largest and most western of the islands of Hyères in the Var department and the Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur region. With an area of 12.54 km2 it forms an arc facing east-west, with cut edges, 7.5 km long and 3 km wide. Its perimeter is about 30 kilometers. The island culminates at the semaphore at 142 m. It owes its conservation status to the fact that it is French State property since 1971 and enjoys the status of "National Park" since 2012. Departure from the Fondue Tower in Giens. Also stroll around in the typical alleyways of the centre and discover the great number of craftsmen shops.
Make use of your stay to stroll around the marina of Saint-Tropez, located at just 15 minutes driving from the campsite. Saint-Tropez is one of the most visited marinas of the Var. Subject to the time of year; you’ll appreciate the yachts or splendid sailing boats and enjoy one of the sunny terraces of the bars and restaurants edging the marina. The town centre houses the museum of naval history, a great culture site. You’ll also find a great number of shops. Discover the famous Gendarmerie of Saint-Tropez (now a museum of Gendarmerie and film). Not far from there, the Place des Lices boasts a market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. The fish market takes place every morning, at the entrance of the old harbour, near the shops. You can take a small ferry to admire the Canoubiers bay and its famous villas (like La Madrague).
Cavalaire sets in the most southern bay of the Var coast and is known for its 3 km long beach stretching at the foot of the Pradels massif. Hikers can choose to ramble on the Cap de Lardier or the Cap de Cavalaire. The town centre beach counts numerous kids’ clubs in the summer, as well as restaurants and private beaches. Pardigon beach is more unspoiled and well appreciated as it is construction-free and set in a preserved environment.
On the Gulf of Saint Tropez, Sainte-Maxime is a popular destination for holidaymakers staying in the Var. The town became a renowned resort in the late 19th century from which the city has retained a unique architecture which is very prominent in its casino building. It is nice to discover the charms of the city by walking along its narrow streets or in the alleys of the covered market.
Several ferry companies will take you to visit the Golden Islands: the île Le Levant, île Port Cros and île de Porquerolles. On the île Port Cros you’ll be visiting the national park. This island boasts some extraordinary nature for both the flora and fauna. The île Le Levant is the most eastern island. With time, it has managed to preserve its 20h reserve of strawberry trees. The île de Porquerolles is the best known and biggest of the three islands. It has more inhabitants, boasts an impressive biodiversity, vast white sand beaches and splendid sea bottoms.
Ramatuelle, near Saint-Tropez, is an authentic medieval town, set at the heart of nature on the Paillas hill. It is a lovely and peaceful village with ochre coloured fronts and pastel painted shutters. On Thursday and Sunday mornings, you’ll find a Provençal market on the Place de l’Ormeau. Laze on the famous beaches like the Pampelonne beach and more unspoiled Escalet beach, admire the Cap Taillat and swim in the clear sea water while enjoying the exceptional surrounding landscape.
La Croix Valmer nestles between the campsite and Cavalaire. This charming town is surrounded by exceptional wine estates. The Sunday morning market under the palm trees is worth a visit. Hiking fanatics will be happy to find numerous tracks (please visit the website of the Tourist Information Office for a map) to explore the landscape and some surprising sights.
Provencal capital of faience, this village of character is part of the Verdon Regional Natural Park. Today many master potters offer quality pieces with original decorations. You will also find beautiful stalls offering some local products such as honey, lavender and olive oil. For the bravest, a beautiful stone staircase from the center of the village to reach the sanctuary of Notre Dame de Beauvoir, a classified historic monument with a magnificent view over the valley.
Aiguines is a renowned tourist destination for its authenticity and its panorama of the lake of Ste Croix. However, woodturning remains the major attraction with the manufacture of "studded balls" that you can discover in a museum dedicated to it in the village center. Additional visits include the chapel of St Pierre and its orientation table, the place of the Fountain and its belfry, as well as St Jean parish church sheltering a christ in cross classified as a historical monument.
This village will seduce you with its art of living and its rich history. Its typically Provençal lanes will guide you between the numerous fountains, laundries and small squares. You will not miss the castle "Knights Templar", a medieval fortress classified since 1840 to historical monument. Every Thursday morning you can go to the large Provencal market and in season the night market invades the pedestrian streets every Friday. Sheltered from the ramparts, as you come in via the Navy gate built in the 17th century, the old town of Antibes draws a maze of streets leading to the discovery of a heritage that reflects the rich history. This town on the Mediterranean coast with its cathedral and tall Saracen towers from the 12th century and its medieval castle definitely merits a visit.
Fayence is a delightful hilltop village overlooking the plain of the Var countryside. With narrow streets that lead to the top of the hill where the castle once stood, this village is one of the many charming villages that dot the Provence such as Seillans, clinging to the slopes of Mount Auzière, Callian and its castle and Montauroux still known for its chapel with painted wood panels
The historic town of Monaco covers the entire ‘Rocher’. Here you can find the Prince’s Palace and the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco which is famous for its stunning coral reef, multicoloured fish and spectacular stingrays and sharks. The retail district of Condamine holds a daily market at Place d’Arme and the Monte Carlo district features luxury cars driving by its casino.
Located at the foot of Chiron, Gréolières watches over the Loup Valley at an altitude of 800 meters, like a jewel in the grandiose setting of the Pre-Alps. A medieval village with its two castels still visible, with its narrow streets and typical houses of the Mountains of Provence, its shaded terraces and its craftsmen. Gréolières is the starting point for wonderful excursions.

By visiting the Saint Blaise site, you will have the opportunity to pass near the ponds, near the chapel and in the Castillon forest. Don’t hesitate to stroll inside the archaeological site to discover the remains of the Gallic fortified city. Guided tours will also be offered to you.
Come and discover the 25 hectares of vines of castel Malherbe in Bormes les Mimosas, located on the foothills of Cap Bénat, facing the vines and the sea. Vines on two terroirs, Pointe du Diable and Malherbe. The harvesting owners have been cultivating vines for four generations and producing white, red and rosé wines. The wine cellar is open all year round. By reservation, the estate offers guided tours by electrically assisted bicycle or outdoor vehicle. Commented tastings will be offered to you without reservation, during opening hours.
Come and discover the 42 hectares of vines of castle of Brégançon in Bormes les Mimosas. A classified site that has been family run for several generations, the wine estate is an exceptional place between land and sea facing the Golden Islands. The estate has obtained organic labeling. Vineyard tours and oenological discovery workshops are organized.
Estagnol beach in Bormes les Mimosas stretches over 475 meters of white sand. The sea is shallow, wild beach with many umbrella pines which provide shade.
To access it by road, you will pass through the Estagnol park, open only during the summer period, where you can park in the shade. Hiking on the coastal path called the “customs officers’ path” allows you to discover the wild coves.

Located next to Fort de Brégançon, Fort de Brégançon beach in Bormes les Mimosas is a pebble beach, with a view of Cabasson Bay and the Giens Peninsula.

The Point Sublime is one of the most picturesque viewpoints of the famous Gorges du Verdon. To get there, follow the direction of Rougon on the D952, along the right bank of the Gorges du Verdon. This viewpoint offers a spectacular view of the entrance to the Canyon.
Housed in the former gendarmerie barracks of Saint-Tropez, a building in use from 1879 to 2003, it has since been transformed into a cultural and tourist center. This legendary location owes its fame primarily to the cult film series "Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez" starring Louis de Funès, several scenes of which were filmed within its walls.
