Wine Route Provence
The wine roads of Provence offer themed tours to meet multiple flavors, different soils and passionate professionals. Of various lengths, less than 20 km by 150 km, these routes punctuated steps will travel by bike or car, on one or more days. The two shorter tours are one of Sainte-Baume and the hills of Bellet in Nice vineyard, respectively 19 km and 16 km. For a longer thematic route, it is possible to opt for the wine road of the Aix (25 km), the terroir of La Londe (43 km), the vineyards of Dracénie (56 km), the road Alpilles (57 km), the fields of Camargue (60 km), or around the Gulf of St. Tropez (145 km).
The wine tourism circuit Sainte-Baume has 6 stages in the vineyards of the limestone massif of Sainte-Baume: the Valleys of Fontfresque, the Bastide Balcailloux Castle Lafoux, Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, Triennes and the cooperative winemakers Sainte-Baume. Among the suggestions are those visiting the house of wines of Var in Provence hills, the grotto of Mary Magdalene and the Basilica of St. Mary Magdalene, largest Gothic building in Provence.
In Nice vineyard, Bellet is a protected designation rare and prestigious. Six family estates open their doors to visitors: Toasc, The Source, St. John Castle Bellet, Via Julia Augusta and closed St. Vincent. A gourmet tour will be also an opportunity to discover the old town and sample wines at the table good restaurants labeled "nissarde kitchen."
The Wine Route of the Aix leads the followers of wine tourism to meet the designation of origin protected wine producing Côtes de Provence Sainte Victoire: the area of Saint-Ser and winemakers of Mont Sainte-Victoire Puyloubier, the Earth domain mistral in Rousset, and the farmhouse Cadenet Trets. A journey in the footsteps of Cézanne, between Aix fountains and vineyard landscapes dominated by the majestic Mont Sainte-Victoire.
Between the Maures and the Mediterranean, the terroir of La Londe is represented by winemakers Pradet, Hyeres or Bormes-les-Mimosas: the closed Cibonne, the castle of Anglades, Maravenne castle Figuière, the field of Sanglière, Angueiroun castle and the area of Anglade. This wine route also invite you to enjoy the flavors and scents of the Provencal markets, hiking in the Maures mountain range and visit the Chartreuse de la Verne.
The vineyards of Dracénie: the valley of Escalans in La Motte, the wine route Dracénie offers 9 steps in prestigious areas, some renowned for their Grands Crus. The route passes through St Antonin du Var, Lorgues, Draguignan Taradeau Vidauban, Les Arcs-sur-Argens and La Motte. Among the must sector include house wines Côtes de Provence Sainte-Roseline chapel in Les Arcs sur Argens, or the Terra Rossa Museum in Salerno.
Alpilles The road is a route proposed by the regional chamber of agriculture Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur through reputable domains located in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, Fontvieille, Les Baux-de-Provence, Mouriès, Eygalières and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The visit of Les Baux-de-Provence, ranked among the "most beautiful villages in France", is an inevitable route.
A trip to Arles allows to tour the most beautiful areas of Camargue: the Isle-Saint-Pierre area, the Attilon area, the Mas de Rey, domain Bouchaud, the farmhouse of Valériole, and the field of Beaujeu. The opportunity to discover also the landscapes of Camargue Regional Natural, ancient treasures of Arles and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
Sainte-Maxime Ramatuelle through Gassin, La Croix-Valmer and Cogolin, the peninsula of Saint-Tropez conceals areas of exceptional appellation wine producers Côtes de Provence.
