A perfect beach for windsurfing and funboard
Almanarre

The wide Almanarre beach is very well known amongst fans of windsurfing. Due to its exposure to the mistral, the sport can be practised for most of the year. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, several schools are available.

The beach of Almanarre is the largest beach of Hyères, one of the largest seaside resorts of the Var and the Côte d'Azur. Located between the Mediterranean and the salt marshes, accessible by the road of Salt, this stretch of fine sand of nearly 4 km long appeared recently in the list of the most beautiful beaches of the world of the New York Times. Upon arrival, you will be surprised to see flamingos near the dunes. The main car park is at the end of the beach to the north, on the Almanarre road, where Olbia beach begins. You can also park along the marshes, but places are scarce in high season. With 300 days of sunshine and 250 days of wind a year, Almanarre Bay is a veritable paradise for windsurfing.
